Planetary Gearbox

Designed and assembled a functional planetary gearbox in SolidWorks, featuring a sun gear, ring gear, carrier, and 3 planet gears. I created detailed parts using the Toolbox, applied advanced mates and gear constraints for proper allignment, and performed motion studies with the ring gear fixed to simulate realistic gear ratio behavior. This project strengthened my proficiency in complex assemblies, parametric modeling, exploded views, and animation while building early intuition for power transmission. Completed prior to formal coursework in Kinematics, it serves as a foundation for future optimization with stress analysis and theoretical calculations.
