Phone Stand
A functional and aesthetically pleasing phone stand
I got tired of leaning my phone against my water bottle, just for it to get a notification, vibrate, and fall over, so I designed my own phone stand!
It holds my phone securely (vertically and horizontally), has a cutout so I can use the stand while it's charging, and there's a back hole to run the cable out nicely.
Being my first CAD design ever, I wanted to be as over the top as reasonably possible, so I modeled my iPhone to see how everything would fit. I realized the phone was way taller than the stand, so I extended its backplate to make sure it wouldn't tip and fall as easily.
I did some basic FEA on the phone, applying a force on the stand from the 204g phone. The stress near the back led to me thickening the lower curve along with filleting the back hole.
